A toxic gas produced by combustion in a poorly oxygenated room and incomplete combustion of fossil fuels, carbon monoxide is an odourless, colourless and tasteless gas (which can often make it difficult to detect) that can leak out from faulty or poorly maintained cooking and heating equipment or tubes.
